Privacy policy

This is a small website run by one author. We try to do the obvious right thing with your data — which mostly means we collect very little, store it carefully, and never sell it. Here's the specifics.

Children under 13

This site does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The voice on the site is friendly to kids, but the email signup, the downloads, and any future account features are framed for adults. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to sign up for you.

If we learn that we've inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we'll delete it immediately. You can email privacy@brettknottbooks.com to flag this.

The email list

If you sign up for the email list, here's what happens:

• We collect your email address and which lead magnet you asked for.
• That data is stored with Kit (formerly ConvertKit), our email service provider.
• We send you the welcome email with your download, plus occasional notes from Brett — a few times a year, never more than monthly.
• You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. Unsubscribing removes your address from our list permanently.

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your email address with anyone. Ever.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics only — Cloudflare Web Analytics. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no third-party trackers. We collect aggregate data (which pages get visited, where visitors came from) but no personal information about individual visitors. No cookies for tracking purposes.

Outbound links

When you click "Buy on Amazon," you're going to Amazon. Amazon's privacy policy applies once you're there. If we participate in the Amazon Associates program, we may earn a small commission on purchases — at no additional cost to you.

Your rights

You can request a copy of any data we have about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@brettknottbooks.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced via email to current subscribers.
